What are they?
Lasting Impressions are fingerprinted charms that can
be made into a range of jewellery or keepsakes. All
the charms 99.9% pure solid silver and are handmade,
which means they are as unique as the fingerprint they
were taken from.
How much are they?
Our current range starts at £25 for a small solid
silver charm. Please click our “Products” pages
for more information and a full list of our current range
of products and prices.
I want to book a party, what’s the next
step?
Simply call 07917 304889 or email us at info@a-lastingimpression.co.uk
and we will get in touch to arrange a suitable date. We
take all the prints in person at the parties and offer appointments
throughout the week.
How do you do it?
We cast your loved ones’ fingerprints in precious
metal clay then when the piece has dried, we sand, engrave
by hand and fire it, at which point it transforms into solid
silver. We then undertake the finishing process, which includes
tumbling and hand polishing to your specified finish.
Will I be able to see my child’s fingerprint?
Every fingerprint is unique which is one of the most special
things about a Lasting Impressions keepsake or piece of
jewellery. However it is important to understand that some
people’s fingerprints are not always easily identifiable,
especially at a young age.
Nevertheless, in nearly every instance
we are able to capture fingerprints cast beautifully in
the solid silver, and even if your child doesn’t have
a very strong print pattern, you will still have a unique
cast of their finger tip. Age is a factor and in most instances,
the older the child or loved one, the better the print.
Can you print at any age?
We can print at any age and any time of life- it doesn’t
have to be your baby or child, we have cast many fingerprints
as wedding gifts! Likewise, we also specialise in printing
terminally ill loved ones and babies who have sadly lost
their fight for life.
Please note however, that under 6 months
of age, your babies’ fingerprint may still be quite
shallow, so will not always give a strongly defined print
in solid silver. Nevertheless, we do our very best and can
usually capture some detail. If you are looking to print
a newborn or very young child and your babies' whorl detail
isnt very strong, you will at the very least get an indent
to show just how tiny they were. At this age, toes can also
be printed and they tend to give better prints at an early
age!
I have more than one child - can I have more
than one fingerprint captured on a piece of jewellery?
Of course. We have a range of products that suit one,
two or more fingerprints. We will be able to advise
which items are the most suitable shape and size.
How long will it take?
One session in your home (or at any of our public sessions/venues)
is all we need to take the prints, however the length
of time that takes will depend on the number of prints
you would like us to take on the day. Taking the prints
isn’t always as it looks but we will re-take them
until we capture the perfect print! Most of the time
taken in our sessions is used deciding what you would
like and details of any engraving! With regards to the
whole process - once back at our studio, the finishing
process takes around 10 days. Therefore we have a lead
time from the date of printing to delivery of two weeks.
Can I have it quicker; it’s for a present?
We undertake a batch management process ensuring items
are prioritised by party date and dispatched as soon
as they are finished. The products generally take around
2 weeks to reach you, as the drying and finishing process
takes the longest and the clay needs to dry fully before
it can be fired. However, we may be able to process
your order more quickly through our fast track priority
system – please discuss this with us when you
place your order and we will of course do our best for
you! Please note there is an additional fee of £5
per order for fast tracked orders.
Do I have to have a party at my house?
No, not if you don’t want to or can't. We can
come to you, you can can come to us, or you can visit
us at one of our pre-arranged venues. Get in touch and
tell us where you live and we will let you know where
and when our next nearest public session/venue will
be.
Alternatively, if you do not live within
our catchment area, would rather take the prints yourself
or wish to purchase a kit as a gift for someone else, we
offer a DIY postal casting kit.
DIY kits cost £5.95 per kit (or two
kits for £10) and include full, easy to follow step-by-step
instructions. Simply take the prints and send back to us
together with your completed order form and payment. We
do the rest and deliver your jewellery back within 2-3 weeks
What happens if my jewellery or keepsake breaks?

of your piece it shouldn’t break. We ask you check
